C3 Mobility - Day 4
Trip Day - visit to Višnjan Observatory, Rovinj and Motovun
On the fourth mobility day in Pazin, we organised a trip with various activities related to the theme of the Sustainability and Consumer Behavior project. Firstly, we visited the Višnjan Observatory and listened to a lecture by the world-renowned expert Korad Korlević. The topic of the lecture was Space Rubbish. After the lecture, all project participants were unpleasantly surprised by the amount of "garbage" in the atmosphere that threatens to approach the Earth. These are meteorites, dust particles, but also satellites, parts of satellites and various tools that people leave in space.
Then we visited Rovinj and Ecomuseum Batana. Batana is a traditional vessel that was of great importance for the population in the past. Small in size, it was made in the basements of local houses and used by fishermen to go out to sea to provide food for their families. The museum is interactive and the students had the opportunity to listen to the old Rovinj dialect, assemble a batana from parts and see the tools used to make it. The workshop in Spacio (a replica of the former cellar) included weaving a rope net around a glass bottle, which served as protection for the then valuable and rare material - glass.
For the end, we left the sunset in Motovun. After the seaside town, we took our European colleagues to the interior of Istria. Motovun, a typical example of a town on a hill in the interior of Istria, and it delighted everyone. Walking up the hill and observing the surroundings from the Motovun walls left no one indifferent. Once again, at the end of the day, the nature with which we live in coexistence reminded us how important it is to preserve it and live according to the principles of sustainability. We will all remember that it is important to learn about our spending habits and contribute to the preservation of the world in which we live. Behind us is a fulfilling day that everyone will remember.
